Measure in the right order
- Measure available wall width and height.
- Measure the maximum floor-case width your furniture layout can accept.
- Check your projector’s placement chart for the target diagonal.
- Confirm the projector can deliver enough brightness at that image area.
- Check seating distance and sightlines.
- Reserve space for speakers and cable access.
Diagonal is not case width
A 100-inch 16:9 image is about 87 inches wide, but a floor-rising case needs extra width for the roller, side structure and housing. Buying from image diagonal alone is a common way to discover that a screen blocks a doorway or overhangs a media unit.

UST geometry is unforgiving. Leave enough furniture and wall tolerance to shift the projector and screen slightly during setup. Designing a layout with zero spare millimeters creates unnecessary alignment stress.
